Michael Haworth joins DLA Piper's Real Estate practice in New York

DLA Piper announced today that Michael Haworth has joined the firm’s Real Estate practice as a partner in New York.

Haworth advises international investors and lenders on their real estate acquisition and financing transactions in various global markets, including throughout the US and Asia. He helps Asia-based investors navigate complex real estate investments in the US, often as a joint venture capital partner, and represents international clients investing in real estate in Asia through debt or equity. His clients include regional and international investment funds, pension funds, developers, banks, life insurance companies, family offices and other financial institutions.

“Michael’s extensive experience handling sophisticated, cross-border real estate matters for international and domestic clients will be of tremendous benefit, along with his deep knowledge of the needs and objectives of companies in Japan, South Korea and elsewhere in the Asia market,” said John Sullivan, global co-chair and US chair of DLA Piper’s Real Estate practice. “We are pleased to welcome him on board.”

Haworth, who joins from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, received his J.D. from the Notre Dame Law School and his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
