10.20 - 11.15 Tech In Finance | Finance In Tech

Digital transformation is impacting many sectors but possibly none more so than financial services. FinTech helped to forge a breakthrough which many other industries are also now following (insuretech, regtech, proptech to name a few) and continues to break new ground with innovation in structures, products, market architecture and solutions. In this session, we will offer a range of views from across a broad spectrum of participants in this space, discussing the impact on various aspects of financial services of this tech revolution and the current direction of travel. We will assess current trends in finance and banking, providing a review of progress with open banking and the digital transformation of traditional financial services and a look at new developments in the digital assets economy including the development of crypto financial market infrastructure. Then we will turn to finance in tech with a review of the current state of play for token based fundraising and the broader funding environment. The discussion is expected to touch on issues including integrating old and new systems, challenges with adaptation and changing the norm, operating in an uncertain regulatory sphere and potential legal barriers to market advancement including from an investment perspective.
