Dr. Michael Holzhäuser includes all aspects of EU and German antitrust/competition law with a special focus on the implementation of complex compliance systems and on the coordination of and the representation in multi-jurisdictional merger control procedures before competition authorities in Germany, the EU and worldwide.

Another of his key areas relates to the development of defence strategies in international antitrust proceedings regarding fines for cartels or abusive practices and representation before the German and European cartel authorities and courts. Furthermore, his practice includes the defence of companies in private follow-on cartel damages claims.

Michael advises companies on compliance-systems and commercial agreements such as distribution agreements, research and development agreements, license agreements, joint ventures and others. His recent work includes a broad range of industry sectors such as financial institutions, energy, electronics, media, health-care, telecommunications and the automotive industry.
