Jan Geert Meents has over 20 years' experience advising IT companies and national and international businesses. His practice covers a combination of corporate, intellectual property and other legal issues specific to the technology sector.

Jan focuses on complex technology transactions involving the exploitation, leveraging and transfer of IP rights concentrating on transformative technologies and their impact on corporate enterprises. His work involves the representation of customers and providers in sophisticated sourcing and offshoring transactions including large-scale IT and BPO projects.

Furthermore, Jan is extensively engaged in open source aspects on behalf of vendors and users as well as in data protection and related IT compliance issues. In addition, he played a major role in developing the industry knowledge required for M&A projects in the technology sector.

Jan Geert is a member of the DLA Piper Brexit Committee, which coordinates the firm's approach to the withdrawal of the UK from the European Union.
