Dr Dietmar Schulz focuses his practice on advising financial institutions and investors as well as corporations. He covers all aspects of financial and corporate restructuring. He further advises on all legal aspects that may arise, both in Germany and on complex cross-border mandates. Dietmar frequently advises creditors and investors in relation to the acquisition and disposal of distressed loan assets with a focus on cross-border matters.

This includes consulting on legal aspects of corporate finance, turn-around, lending, enforcement, corporate and insolvency issues including those that relate to the conduct of (cross-border) insolvency proceedings or bankruptcy avoidance, and advising on sales prior to bankruptcy (distressed M&A). His experience also includes the sale and purchase of non-performing loans (NPL), both as individual receivables and portfolios.

Dietmar heads the German Restructuring Group of DLA Piper. His team is part of one of the largest group of restructuring lawyers in the world.
