Sameer Ghaznavi named a 2021 Energy and Environmental Trailblazer by National Law Journal

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that of counsel Sameer Ghaznavi has been named a 2021 Energy and Environmental Trailblazer by the National Law Journal.

The publication highlighted Ghaznavi’s extensive experience in the power sector, including his development of a renewable energy-focused real estate team at DLA Piper, which provides universal, cost-effective solutions that are adaptable across localities and minimize logistical hurdles clients face. “If we don’t have boots on the ground in a specific state, we work with local counsel to bridge the gap,” said Ghaznavi. “We have one of the largest real estate practices, so we can move as quickly as clients need us to.”

Ghaznavi, who also serves as chair of the firm's Chicago Diversity & Inclusion Committee, represents investors, developers and utilities in relation to the development, strategic acquisition and sale of energy and infrastructure projects in North America and internationally. He recently led the DLA Piper deal team that advised Invenergy, a privately held global developer and operator of sustainable energy solutions, in the sale of a 195-megawatt solar facility to AES Indiana, an Indiana-based subsidiary of power distribution company AES Corporation.
