Wundy Lee has extensive experience in working for multinational and local corporations on a variety of contentious, non-contentious and advisory employment work.

Her non-contentious work includes but is not limited to employment contracts, policies and handbooks; hiring; termination; employment arrangement and structure; employee transfer; international assignment and secondment; immigration and visa; employee privacy; employment discrimination and diversity; redundancy exercises; internal and regional restructures; employment due diligence in mergers and acquisitions and amalgamation; employment aspects of new Hong Kong entrants etc. In particular, she had worked on a number of projects which involved cross border elements, such as handling APAC redundancy and business restructure projects, global employment due diligence exercise, global contract review exercise, global policy harmonisation projects etc. for international corporations.

For contentious work, she has also advised on a number of employment disputes, such as termination, discrimination, post-employment restrictive covenants, benefit abuse etc.

EXPERIENCE

  • Assisting numerous international employers in coordinating review of employment documents and/or advice of employment related issues in multiple jurisdictions (e.g. assisting an international fashion retailer to coordinate review of employment contracts, confidentiality and non-solicitation agreements, consultancy agreements, agency agreements and company policies etc. in over 20 jurisdictions).
  • Advising numerous international employers in the drafting and review of their employment contracts, employment handbooks, company policies and contractor agreements.
  • Assisting financial institutions in drafting template employment contract for senior management.
  • Assisting a US based money transfer company to revise its global employment contract and employee handbook for use in the region.
  • Advising numerous international employers, including companies in food, financial and retail sectors, on issues regarding employees' benefits entitlements (such as leave, remuneration, benefits and retirement entitlements) and incentive plans.
  • Advising multinational corporations on issues regarding variations to terms of employment and enforcement of restrictive covenants (including duties of confidentiality, non-solicitation of and non-dealing with customers and employees, and non-competition against ex-employees).
  • Advising numerous employers on termination cases and assisting with the drafting and review of termination documents, settlement agreement, and/or communication scripts.
  • Advising a leading company in the aviation industry on labour tribunal disputes regarding staff benefits, including advising on strategy to defend the claim and drafting the defence and witness statements.
  • Advising various retail and technology companies on carrying out office closure and redundancy exercise in multiple jurisdictions, including but not limited to its planning, strategies, documentation preparation, package calculations and implementation.
  • Advising a leading company in the insurance industry on APAC employee transfer and human capital restructure project.
