DLA Piper's Sanctions Matrix quarterly update: December 2025

Our updated Sanctions Matrix, December 2025 edition is now available.

The Matrix summarises all UK, EU, US and Canada sanctions currently in force.

Key updates in the December 2025 edition include:

• Iran: The UK, EU and Canada have all reimposed sanctions on Iran to comply with their UN obligations to reinstate sanctions that had been lifted since 2015. The UK and, in particular, the EU have also imposed additional measures that go beyond the “snapped back” UN measures.
  
  
• Russia: The U.S., UK, EU and Canada have all continued to impose additional sanctions on Russia (as well as Belarus, Crimea and non-government controlled areas of Ukraine). U.S., UK and Canadian measures have principally comprised additional asset freezes, but the EU has gone further and imposed two substantial packages of trade and sectoral restrictions.
