Intellectual Property and Technology News (North America), Issue 48, Q4 2020

Around the corner

2020 was a challenging year unlike any we’ve ever seen before, and 2021 is finally around the corner. Our Intellectual Property and Technology team has been proud to help guide our clients through these fast-changing times. We have developed a number of tools to keep our clients informed on what’s to come in the new year.

We recently launched a global Sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) portal to help companies around the world transition to and thrive in a more sustainable and socially conscious future. The portal provides views and insights of sustainability and ESG-related topics by sector from thought leaders around the world to address the important challenges and opportunities presented by ESG. We understand the unique issues and needs of each sector and deliver seamless global solutions that help our clients around the world. Subscribe to receive the firm’s SESG updates here.

DLA Piper also started a new podcast series, Beyond the Curve, which helps businesses and communities plan and adapt to the challenges and uncertainties resulting from COVID-19 and its aftermath. Our lawyers and other business and community leaders discuss forward-facing approaches to navigating these unprecedented times. Click here to see a number of interesting episodes including topics on Schrems II and other data privacy legislation, the role of technology in transitioning back to the office and what’s next for the billion dollar esports industry among others.

We found reasons to celebrate this last quarter with IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Professionals 2020 naming 26 DLA Piper lawyers from 9 counties to its list of top patent professionals – representing lawyers in all areas of patent law. In addition, U.S. News & World Report named DLA Piper among the top intellectual property and technology firms in the nation. We are so thankful to all of you who have relied on us in this very unusual year, and we are looking forward to welcoming in 2021. Our IPT team is here to help you think about what’s around the corner in the days to come. Please reach out to us with any of your IPT questions or needs.
