Darach Connolly has extensive experience advising public and private sector clients on competition issues at EU and Irish level.

He advises on a wide range of competition law matters including EU and national merger control, EU and Irish market investigations, cartel proceedings, distribution and licensing agreements, abuse of dominance, competition complaints and actions for damages. He also advises on EU regulatory matters, involving data protection issues, public procurement procedures and State aid rules, as well as air transport and telecommunications sector regulation.

In addition, Darach has developed in-depth experience in the Life Science sector. He has advised international and domestic clients on complex EU and Irish rules on medical products and devices, healthcare services and Covid-19 related issues.

Darach leads DLA Piper’s EU and Irish competition and regulatory practice in Ireland.
