Terry O'Regan heads the DLA Piper Kuwait office. He has over 20 years of experience, gained in private practice and in-house roles in the United Kingdom and Middle East.

Terry focuses on all aspects of international trade and maritime law. He has particular expertise in the marine, trade, energy and insurance sectors, where he has an impressive track record advising ship owners, charterers, insurers, state and private oil companies, traders and banks on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters.

Terry has detailed knowledge of and experience in the Kuwait market, having previously spent a number of years as the Senior Legal Advisor at Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. In this role, Terry was responsible for all matters in relation to the sale and purchase of hydrocarbons in addition to the conducting and managing of all international litigation.

Previously Terry was one of only six accredited speakers on International Trade to one of the world’s leading trade banks.  He has extensive arbitration experience including LMAA, LCIA, ICC and ad hoc proceedings and is a regular speaker on matters ranging from sanctions to contract drafting to analysis of the latest court decisions.  Terry has sat as chair for Lloyd’s Maritime Academy, addressed the New York Maritime Association, and in addition to his International Trade lecturing, provides various external and in-house seminars to clients.
