Green lease agreements

Green leases have the - hitherto often unexploited - potential to increase user satisfaction and tenant loyalty while saving costs at the same time. The guideline now being presented entitled 'Green Lease Agreements - Recommended clauses and actions for sustainable building use' - operates at precisely this point and presents to all the relevant stakeholders a concept they can implement for the German real estate market.

It is the result of intensive cooperation between the Office for Integrated Environmental Protection (BIU), the German Private Institute for Sustainable Real Estate (DIFNI), the international law firm DLA Piper, Generali Deutschland AG, the German branch office of Generali Real Estate S.p.A. and Union Investment Real Estate GmbH.

The brochure supplements those already published in recent years, namely Green Property Management Agreements and Green Facility Management Agreements, and thus supports the comprehensive implementation of sustainability in all business processes of the real estate sector.
