Campos Mello Advogados partner Marcella Hill to join Dive In Festival panel discussing generational conflict in the workspace

Marcella Hill, partner and leader of the insurance and reinsurance practice of Campos Mello Advogados (CMA), which has a cooperation agreement with DLA Piper, will speak on a “Generations and the Future of Work” panel at the insurance industry’s Dive In Festival to discuss the challenges she has faced in her career and how multiple generations can thrive while working together.

As Generation Z enters the workforce, where Baby Boomers often make up a large part of companies’ senior levels, employers are faced with the challenge of creating a workplace where individuals of different generations are encouraged to collaborate despite their differing life experiences, values and expectations. The panel, which will take place on September 23, 2020, as part of the Dive In Festival, will include a discussion of ways to encourage employee well-being and increase the creative potential of corporations. CMA is taking part in the initiative to organize the event as part of DLA Piper’s global sponsorship.

“Our debate will be a great opportunity to discuss how the pandemic has caused even more disruption for the workforce, as generations have had to meet online rather than face-to-face,” said Marcella Hill. “This new reality will have an impact on people’s lives and how we socialize, and, ultimately, on companies. Therefore, the risks and concerns that individuals and businesses have are shifting, which means the insurance industry will need to have a closer look at products and services on offer from now on.”

Marcella Hill, who works in London, will speak on the panel with specialists in generational relations in the workforce, including Ricardo Sales (partner, Mais Diversidade), Morris Litvak (CEO, Maturi Jobs), Graziella Castilho (president, Junior Achievement) and Daniel Cunha (Claims director / Generations Group sponsor, Chubb).

Dive In Festival for Diversity & Inclusion in Insurance has taken place every year since 2015. The event brings together major companies and was launched in London by Inclusion@Lloyds. The next year, it was held in 10 countries and, in 2019, in 32. This year, over 90 global and local panels are scheduled, all of which will take place online between September 22 and 24. In addition to generational impact, the debates will address mental health and new family arrangements, as well as gender, race and disability issues. The event is open to all insurance company employees.
