Kersten Broms focuses her practice in the area of international tax, including matters such as tax-efficient international structuring, overseas expansion strategy and design, international joint ventures and partnerships, global transfer pricing strategy, IP planning and exploitation, indirect tax planning, post-acquisition integration, US taxation of foreign operations, and repatriation planning for clients ranging from start-ups to large multi-national companies.

Before joining DLA Piper, Kersten was a financial planner for nearly a decade, advising small businesses and individuals on retirement, investments, insurance, college, and tax planning, and serving as a wealth manager for her clients.

Kersten has a passion for and history with Japan, and she is currently working toward attaining professional-level proficiency in the Japanese language.
