Joe Davis provides practical advice to in-house counsel on issues related to their professional responsibility obligations and the structure and management of their legal departments.  Such guidance routinely includes training programs specifically designed for corporate counsel. Joe's areas of focus range from managing relationships with outside counsel to the application of attorney-client privilege and other evidentiary protections when conducting internal investigations, engaging third parties, and interacting with government regulators.   Joe has helped clients create compliance programs as well as other processes to mitigate liability risk.

As the firm's Associate General Counsel, Joe is experienced in legal ethics and law firm risk management. He also regularly provides counsel on matters related to lawyers' professional responsibility.

Joe is a member of DLA Piper's North American Pro Bono Committee and a former member of DLA Piper's Policy Committee.

In 2015, Joe was appointed to the American Bar Association Law Practice Division's Ethics and Professional Responsibility Committee.
