Cara Edwards is a partner in Product Liability and Mass Tort practice group, recognized by Law360 as the 2013 Product Liability Group of the Year. Her practice primarily involves the defense of pharmaceutical and other healthcare companies in a variety of cases, with an emphasis on complex, multi-jurisdictional product liability suits.

Cara currently serves on the national coordinating counsel team for all asbestos, talc, silica, and other toxic tort exposure litigation for her clients' nationwide dockets. She manages and collaborates with local counsel across the country to develop national defense strategies, including motion and discovery practice. Her experience also includes defending consumer-related claims in numerous jurisdictions, the development of expert witness reports and testimony, and consulting on strategic planning issues faced by her clients. Cara regularly counsels clients on a wide range of risk management, regulatory, product labeling, recall and public disclosure issues.

Cara is a member of the firm's Diversity and Inclusion Committee and is the New York delegate to the firm's Leadership Alliance for Women ("LAW"). She also is involved in the firm's summer program and recruiting efforts. Cara has contributed to papers delivered at DRI seminars and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association seminar on Federal Practice.

Cara is a member of DLA Piper’s North American Pro Bono Committee.
