Seth Friedman is a litigation partner in the New York office of DLA Piper and the co-Chair of the firm’s Professional Liability practice. Seth focuses his practice on the representation of US and international accounting firms in connection with federal and state litigation, arbitration and regulatory investigations by the Securities & Exchange Commission, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and state licensing authorities. 

Seth joined DLA after serving six years in the Offices of the General Counsel of two major US accounting firms, first as an assistant general counsel with KPMG USA, and subsequently as BDO USA’s Deputy General Counsel. Prior to those roles, he spent significant time as an associate on high profile accounting-related matters.  In addition to litigation and regulatory investigations, Seth regularly consults with major domestic and international accounting firms on PCAOB registration requirements, internal investigations and independence related matters. 

In addition, Seth has significant experience representing a wide variety of businesses in post-closing disputes and other litigation and regulatory matters that involve accounting and financial statement-related issues.
