Eliot has experience at the trial and appellate court levels in both state and federal courts.

In the insurance field, Eliot has over three decades of experience, including seven years as in-house counsel with one of the world's largest international insurance broker/financial services firms. Eliot has counseled clients and litigated cases involving a broad spectrum of issues. He has represented the interests of insurers, insurance brokers, and policyholders. His experience has included the handling of primary and excess insurance, reinsurance and bad faith matters involving general liability, property, directors and officers, professional liability, employment practices and other types of coverage. It has also included US, London, Canadian and Bermuda insurance market practices and professional liability issues at the retail, wholesale/surplus lines and reinsurance levels. Eliot has represented clients in both protecting against unfair competition and in hiring employees from competitors. He has experience involving alternative risk management solutions and the use of insurance markets as a financial resource.
