Matthew Pollock practises in the area of general corporate/commercial law, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, securities and corporate finance, commercial real estate and banking and finance. Matthew has a particular interest in assisting Japanese companies with respect to Canadian corporate law matters, and he also acts for not-for-profit organizations in relation to corporate matters.

Matthew regularly advises both private and public companies on purchase and sale of business transactions, equity and debt financings, commercial real estate transactions, compliance with securities regulations, and other corporate matters. Matthew acts for lenders and borrowers in relation to secured loans, syndicated loans, and acquisition financings. He has also acted for investment banking firms in their role as agent in connection with private placements and public offerings.

Prior to joining the firm, Matthew worked for several years in one of the largest full-service law firms in Tokyo, Japan, where he assisted Japanese lawyers on cross-border matters and drafting international contracts.
