Raj Shah is the Chair of the Chicago Litigation Group and former co-chair of DLA Piper's Class Action Litigation practice. He litigates complex commercial disputes and counsels some of the leading global companies through strategic and multi-disciplinary matters.

Raj serves as lead counsel for Fortune 500 and large privately held clients involved in complicated disputes across a variety of highly regulated industries, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices, manufacturing and retail, telecommunications, transportation and financial services. Raj's practice is national in scope and he focuses on defending clients in class action and consumer protection litigation, licensing, royalty and other intellectual property disputes, merger and acquisition related contests, fraud and corporate governance matters and product liability and mass tort litigation.

Raj has been elected or appointed to serve in a variety of leadership positions at DLA Piper. He currently serves on the Firm's Associate Compensation Committee. He previously served on DLA Piper's Policy Committee, Partner-Slating Committee, on the Chicago office’s Diversity Committee, Hiring Committee and Chicago Pro Bono Committee, and on the board of advisors of the Marbury Institute, DLA Piper's professionalism program.

Raj sits on the advisory board for the Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession.

Raj also helps lead the firm's India practice and counts among his clients many of India's most prominent companies.
