Mike Silva focuses his practice on regulatory and compliance matters in the financial services sector.

Before joining DLA Piper, Mike served as chief regulatory affairs officer and compliance leader at a systemically important financial institution, advising the CEO and board of directors on regulatory and compliance matters and leading a 700-person global regulatory affairs and compliance staff. Earlier, Mike had a long career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he held many leadership roles, including lead in-house international counsel, Chief of Staff and Senior Supervisory Officer for a systemically important financial institution.

Mike has extensive experience implementing the Dodd-Frank Act's enhanced prudential standards and meeting regulatory expectations with respect to risk management, capital planning, governance, compliance, resolution planning and culture. Mike also has extensive experience with strategic planning, investigations and crisis management.
