Ian Taylor represents companies, executives and fiduciaries in connection with ERISA litigation, employee benefits and executive compensation matters, class actions and commercial disputes. 

In addition to being one of the leaders of the firm’s nationwide ERISA litigation practice, Ian also has first and second chair experience in litigation involving non-compete agreements, executive compensation arrangements, product liability matters and professional and medical malpractice claims.

In the area of ERISA litigation, Ian has a broad range of experience, including defending plans, fiduciaries and companies against claims of breach of fiduciary duty, vesting and funding violation disputes, withdrawal liability disputes, and disputes regarding welfare and pension benefits. He also counsels companies on plan interpretation, amendment and benefit claims administration.

In 2015, Ian was part of a team of lawyers from DLA Piper and in-house counsel from Boehringer Ingelheim who taught a week-long class in Zambia on the principles of legal writing to strengthen the skills of 90 students at the University of Zambia School of Law (UNZA) in an effort to help better prepare them for written school exams, the bar exam and in practice.
