Michal Jorek practices in the area of dispute resolution. His practice has a particular focus on disputes with an international dimension.

Michal has extensive experience representing corporate clients and sovereign states in international arbitrations, both ad hoc and under leading institutional arbitration rules, seated in a number of civil and common law jurisdictions and governed by a broad spectrum of substantive and procedural laws (including the laws of Australia, Bermuda, Brazil, England and Wales, France, Germany, Ghana, India, Israel, Japan, the Netherlands, New York, Nigeria, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, and public international law). Michal also represents clients in disputes in domestic courts, including in the context of proceedings concerning enforcement of arbitral awards.

Michal's practice covers a wide range of sectors and practice areas, including construction, insurance, M&A, natural resources and financial services. Michal represents clients from Asia, Europe, Africa, North and South America and Australia.

Michal frequently advises on the drafting of dispute resolution and governing-law clauses, as well as conflict of laws and jurisdictional issues. He also regularly advises non-contentious departments at DLA Piper in relation to corporate transactions.

Michal sits as administrative secretary to international tribunals and accepts appointments as an arbitrator.
