  • Nitaqat - increase in Saudisation percentages

    The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Labour and Social Development has announced new Saudisation percentages, to be implemented from August 2017. These new percentages vary between sectors and according to the relevant entity's activities and size, however they show a general increase and. in some cases, a significant increase, in the required minimum levels of Saudi employees in the private sector.

  • Amnesty for unlawful employees

    From an immigration perspective, the Ministry of Interior has announced an amnesty for individuals who are currently living and working unlawfully in Saudi Arabia. The amnesty started on 29 March 2017 and is expected to last for three weeks. During this period, individuals have the opportunity to present themselves to the authorities without facing any sanctions beyond deportation. Once outside the country, such individuals will be permitted to reapply to live and work in Saudi Arabia through the proper channels.
