Tom helps clients, including multinational corporates and owner managers on their acquisition and exit strategies, whether domestic or multi-jurisdictional. Tom also has experience advising private equity houses on new investments, bolt-on acquisitions and exits, as well as advising management teams.

Tom has a particular focus on the Tech sector and has also advised on several acquisitions of software platform businesses over the last year, including on behalf of Netcall Plc (an AIM-quoted technology company). Tom has also previously spent time seconded to the Martin James Network to advise on the investment by BGF in one of MJN’s portfolio companies operating as a leading innovator in social care using virtual reality tech.

Tom has an aptitude for building strong client relationships across a broad and diverse client base, delivering clear and commercial advice that delivers on his client’s strategies.

  • Advising Netcall Plc (an AIM-quoted technology company) on its acquisition of a process improvement software business.
  • Advising FactSet, a leading provider of integrated financial information and analytical applications, on its acquisition of CYMBA Technologies and Vermilion Software for $75m. Vermilion is a leading global provider of client reporting and communications software and services to the financial services industry with offices based in the UK, Singapore and the US. CYMBA is a supplier of business solutions for asset managers.
  • Adivising portfolio company Antser (as in an house secondee to the Martin James Network) on an investment by BGF. Antser is a leading innovator in social care using virtual reality technologies.
  • Advising the majority shareholders on the sale of Allinea Software Limited to global technology giant ARM Limited.
  • Advising Geary’s Bakery Limited on a major investment from a family with a strong background in the food industry.
  • Advising Iron Mountain on a series of strategic acquisitions to its secure storage and shredding divisions.
  • Advising US based CreativeDrive Inc on its multi-million pound acquisition of Zebra Worldwide Group, a content creator with offices in a number of jurisdictions.
