About

Guillermo Bailach is a tax lawyer with over 10 years’ experience advising multinational enterprises on M&A deals and designing bespoke tax-efficient international structures.

Guillermo leads the Tax Liability Insurance practice. He also has significant experience in advising on M&A deals and all types of tax procedures (tax audits and tax litigation).

Guillermo completed his LL.M. at ie Law School with honors and holds a Law Degree from Complutense University of Madrid.

Guillermo is a Professor of Tax Law at UCM.

EXPERIENCE

His experience includes advising:

  • Underwriters of transactional insurance products on M&A deals for an aggregated value of more than EUR 100 bn.
  • Several multinational enterprises of different sectors (Insurance, Life Sciences, etc.) in complex restructuring processes, including transnational mergers and de-mergers.
  • On the tax structuring and financial modelling for the construction and development of a sugar factory in Spain with an estimated value of EUR 450 million. (2018)
  • A top transport company on tax aspects of a bidding process with an estimated value of EUR 430 million. (2019)
