About

Gurpreet Bal represents and advises technology companies, investors and founders on corporate and securities matters at all stages of the business life cycle. He guides startups, venture-backed, private and public companies through a wide array of corporate initiatives, including formation, corporate governance, capital-raising and strategic transactions.

In the US and abroad, Gurpreet has represented tech companies and investors in hundreds of capital raising transactions including venture financings, private equity investments, debt financing and public offerings ranging from series seed private equity rounds to market-defining IPOs. He also regularly counsels clients on liquidity and exit transactions – representing private and public companies globally in mergers and acquisitions, stock sales, tender offers, asset purchases, cross-border transactions, spin-offs, acqui-hires and other similar transactions. Since 2010, Gurpreet has closed more than 50 such transactions, with an aggregate deal value of more than US$60 billion.

Gurpreet's clients include leaders, innovators and investors in areas such as AI, semiconductors, healthcare, fintech, networking, security, consumer tech, food technology and social enterprise. He is fluent in all types of corporate and business transactional matters and has extensive experience working with tech companies involved in mainstream and cutting-edge development both domestically and internationally.

Notably, he represented a private company that develops plant-based alternatives in its US$200 million funding round and its subsidiary in its US$170 million funding round.
