Claudia Barbarano joined DLA Piper in 2015 and supports clients on the integrity and distributional impacts of market-based climate instruments. A sustainability and pro bono practitioner with over a decade of experience working with governments, UN agencies, intergovernmental organisations, corporates and financial institutions in Italy and abroad, on carbon pricing policy, the contractual architecture outcome-based financing instruments, and counterparty and insolvency risk in environmental commodity trading.
Earlier in her career, she coordinated DLA Piper's Pro Bono practice in Italy, working with UN agencies and intergovernmental organisations on legal pathways for forcibly displaced people, unaccompanied minors and stateless population.
