Kateřina Barcalová is a member of DLA Piper's Corporate practice. She has experience in all areas of corporate, commercial, and financial law, with a particular focus on M&A, venture capital, and private equity.

She advises local and international clients on corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day business operations. She's been involved in numerous M&A transactions, providing legal support at all stages, including due diligence, drafting a wide range of contracts, and preparing other essential legal documents.

She supports startups, investors, and funds in venture capital deals and assists with private equity transactions, shareholder agreements, and investment structuring across various industries.

Kateřina advises clients from multiple sectors, including data privacy and cybersecurity, financial services, insurance, investment management and funds, and life sciences.

  • Advising Genesys, an AI-powered customer and employee experience platform for businesses, in their data protection query under Czech and EU privacy law.
  • Advising About You GmbH, a Germany-based operator of an eshop dealing in clothing, footwear and accessories, in communication with various inspectorates of the Czech trade authority regarding compliance with the consumer protection code and other related laws.
  • Advising an insurance company in a multijurisdictional review of the underwriting of tour operator financial insurance to meet the requirements of local (Czech) law implementing the EU Directive.
  • Advising Rippling, a workforce management platform, on the post-formation registrations of its new Czech subsidiary, including CIT registration and UBO registration.
  • Advising client on the sale of the outstanding 25% of shares held by the client in Czech companies developing residential and commercial projects in the Czech Republic, known as Košinka and Simply Holešovice.
