Gonçalo Castro Ribeiro has large experience in cross-border transactions and financial institutions regulatory issues, as well as in project finance and capital markets transactions. He mainly advises financial institutions, listed companies and private equity firms, and has acted on several of the most high profile deals in Portugal in the last decades.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising a Real Estate and Hospitality Company on the bond facility secured by several Portuguese assets, for the purpose of developing an aparthotel and real estate 100 million plus investment.
  • Advising a Bank & Loan Fund Syndicate in the negotiation and subscription of an innovative unitranche bond and loan programme worth around EUR 100 million, for an innovative and growth Portuguese tech company.
  • Advising in a complex EUR 25 billion dual listing process in Brazil and Portugal of the largest telecom operators in each country.
  • Advising in a EUR 19 billion public tender offer in the capital markets of a large Chinese Renewables Company over the largest Portuguese Energy Company.
  • Advising the Government of the Republic of Angola in the procedures for the creation of a stock exchange and funds market in Angola.
  • Advising an international investment bank in an EUR 4.7 billion Liability Management Exercise.
  • Advising a rating agency in an EUR 580 million securitization of NPLs.
  • Advising on a corporate reorganisation of the investor structure in a Portuguese bridge bank valued above EUR 4 billion.
  • Advising on an innovative fleet sale and leaseback, with a special structure that was required to comply with obligations under a pre-existing concession agreement.
