Sam Churney is a Legal Director in DLA’s Intellectual Property, Media, Sport and Entertainment team. He focuses on the commercial exploitation of media rights, sponsorship, music, brand exploitation, content licensing, brand ambassador arrangements and intellectual property issues as well as negotiating complex arrangements for the hosting of sporting and music events. Sam has assisted in advising leading companies in the sports, media and entertainment industries including the Premier League, LEGO, Warner Bros. Discovery, NBA and ITV, amongst others.
Sam has previously been seconded to the NBA and the On Demand, Interactive, Online and Brands Legal Team at ITV and has worked on virtual secondments for VICE Media and beIN Sports.
Sam was selected as a “Rising Star” for Sport by Legal 500 in 2019 and 2020.
