Prior Experience

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Melina practiced as an associate at a leading banking and finance law firm in Mexico, where she represented and advised domestic and international financial institutions, investment funds, issuers, and corporate clients on a broad range of structured finance and capital markets transactions. Melina also worked as an international attorney at a leading global law firm in New York and was a member of its Latin America Practice. In that role, she advised prominent Latin American and international issuers, private equity sponsors, multinational corporations, and financial institutions on complex cross-border transactions throughout the region, including capital markets offerings, mergers and acquisitions, acquisition financings, syndicated lending, structured finance transactions, and debt restructurings.
