Melissa is a Real Estate lawyer with over 10 years’ experience acting across industrial, office and retail portfolios.

She assists major pension funds and other institutional investors in their acquisition and disposal of commercial properties and has particular experience in dealing with lettings and other day-to-day management work (for landlords and tenants alike).

Melissa also has a background in corporate support work.

EXPERIENCE

  • Represented one of the UK's largest, private pension schemes on a letting of industrial space (subject to contamination containment items) to a global, online retailer with an annual rent of almost GBP1.5m.
  • Acted for an investor landlord on the lettings of a four-storey office scheme in Bristol, all with annual rents in excess of GBP200,000 (after having devised a template lease for the building).
  • Developed a suite of standard green clauses in view of the MEES Regulations (which introduced measures to improve energy efficiency in private rented property in England and Wales).
  • Assisted various clients on the release of their rights to light and air in respect of multi-let, office premises in London and on the grant of scaffolding oversailing rights for the developments necessitating such releases.
