Gisela de Lamare has experience on a wide range of intellectual property matters with emphasis in legal advice consultations and due diligence related to copyrights, trademarks and contracts.
Gisela also advises clients in data protection matters. Her work is client orientated, with close attention to the daily demands related to all phases of any compliance project, such as assessing risks, drafting action plans and preparing compliance documents.
DLA Piper and Campos Mello Advogados (CMA) are separate and independent law firms, which work in cooperation with one another. Partners of DLA Piper are not partners of CMA; and CMA partners are not partners of DLA Piper.
Gisela has also provided infringement risk assessment related to the use of a title in an audiovisual performance. The search and the risk assessment were fundamental for the viability of the project.
Gisela has drafted a comprehensive manual regarding the requirements, obligations and rights listed by the Brazilian Data Protection Law to assist on the analysis of the level of protection provided by the law and the assessment on whether it can be considered a safe country to transfer personal data by foreigner governments. This work will impact on the regulation of international transfers and demonstrates an extensive knowledge of the law.
Gisela has assisted clients with the development of a personalized data protection compliance program, which encompasses the mapping of the current structure of compliance, the assessment of compliance gaps and the draft of an action plan which will enable the clients to act in compliance with the Brazilian data protection legislations. The compliance project is especially relevant considering the lack of data protection culture in Brazil and the corresponding assistance which must be provided to the client.
