About

A member of DLA Piper's Global Capital Solutions practice, Jacob advises leading credit funds, alternative capital providers, investment banks and financial sponsors and their portfolio companies on a wide range of financing transactions on a broad range of complex domestic and cross-border private credit and syndicated debt financing matters as well as capital solutions, special situations, fund-level and structured finance transactions. His practice and experience span the spectrum of public and private financing transactions and products from unitranche and syndicated lending, second lien, holdco PIK and other junior debt, preferred equity and hybrid capital, fund and asset-backed financings through to special situations and rescue financings.

  • Advising lenders on the financing for HIG's strategic investment in Avanta Salud and subsequent acquisition of Vitaly Group by Avanta Salud.*
  • Advising on a bridge financing for the public-to-private acquisition of International Personal Finance by BasePoint.*
  • Advising lenders on the unitranche financing for Blacksheep’s acquisition of Distilled Media.*
  • Advising ICG on a debt and equity co-investment in a sponsor-owned medical devices business.*
  • Advising on a unitranche financing for the acquisition of Itineris.*
  • Advising lenders on the unitranche financing for IK Partners’ acquisitions of Dains Accountants and Sansidor.*
  • Advising the second lien lenders to the Wittur group in relation to its financial restructuring.*
  • Advising credit fund investors including Apollo, Park Square Capital and KKR Credit on private placed notes investments to a Cinven portfolio company.*
  • Advising both sponsors and private investment funds on multiple fund-level and asset backed financings.*
  • Advising on the financing for EIG’s c.USD4.8bn acquisition of a 25% stake in Repsol’s upstream oil and gas assets and subsequent HYB refinancing.*
  • Advising joint lead arrangers and joint book-running managers in LATAM Airlines Group’s USD2.75bn debtor-in-possession to exit financing.*
