Marcos is a Legal Director in the IP&T Department in the Madrid office of DLA Piper. His professional experience includes litigation and non-litigation matters in areas such as trademark law, patents, intellectual property (including software protection), unfair competition, advertising law and trade secret protection.
Marcos has a strong track record in civil and administrative litigation, as well as in proceedings before Spanish and EU public bodies related to his area of expertise. He joined DLA Piper in 2024. Prior to joining the Firm, he worked in the IP Department of a prestigious national firm.

For several years Marcos have carried out an extensive academic activity in prestigious postgraduate programs, predominantly in patent and trademark law.
Marcos has been the co-coordinator and lecturer on the Patent Law module of the LLM in Intellectual Property Law and New Technologies at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM).
He has also been the co-coordinator and lecturer on the Trademark Law module of the LLM in Intellectual Property Law at Instituto de Empresa (IE Law School).
He is a regular speaker and commentator at law seminars and conferences, and lectures on the postgraduate programmes of other Spanish universities.
