Ana García Fau
Ana joined the International Board of DLA Piper in April 2017. Since then, she has Chaired the Audit Committee as well as being a member of the Risk Committee, Remuneration Committee and Nomination Committee. Ana was a member of the Global Board until March 2021.
Ana is an experienced non-executive/independent board member currently also serving at public and private companies in Spain, France and Portugal: Merlin Properties (2014), Gestamp Automoción (2017), Eutelsat Communications (2015) and Euskaltel (2020) (real estate, manufacturing, TMT, infrastructure). Additionally, she is non-executive Chairperson at Finerge (2020), a Portuguese renewable energy company owned by the infrastructure fund First Sentier. She is proprietary director representing the UK pension fund USS at Globalvía (2017). She is also a member of the advisory boards of Salesforce (EMEA), Pictet Wealth Management (Iberia), the Corporate Governance Center of ESADE Business School and the Iberian McKinsey Alumni Council.
- She graduated in Economics & Business Administration, and Law from Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Spain (ICADE, E-3, major in Finance), and holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US.
- Ana has extensive experience in previous international executive roles with relevant strategic, financial, M&A and operating background. She was CEO of Yell for the Spanish, Latin American businesses (2006-2014), expanding her role as CEO of the US Hispanic market, based in Houston-Texas. She was part of the Global Executive Committee, and Chief Global Strategy Officer, responsible for the digital strategy and transformation. Between 1997 and 2016 she built up her career at the Telefonica Group, serving as Chief Corporate Development Officer and CFO of TPI-Paginas Amarillas (Ibex 35 company). She has also worked at McKinsey&Co., and at the M&A department of Goldman Sachs in London.
Memberships And Affiliations
- Ana is an active member of International Women Forum, Women Corporate Directors and of the Instituto de Consejeros y Administradores (ICA-Spanish Institute of Directors). Ana devotes time to her pro bono activities, mostly centred around corporate governance, mentoring women and innovation. She has been a member of the Professional Advisory Board of ESADE business school and of the board of trustees of several foundations, including SERES Foundation, a reference for Spanish companies on ESG, as well as member of the board of the MIT Club of Spain. She was previously President of the European Professional Women Network in Spain.
