Marcos is a lawyer in the Corporate and M&A department at DLA Piper's Madrid office. He holds a Law degree from the University of Zaragoza and a dual Master's in Legal Practice and Entrepreneurship with New Technologies in IE Law School.

He advises national and international clients—including industrial investors, venture capital firms, and corporate groups—across a wide range of sectors, with a particular focus on energy, infrastructure, and emerging technologies (i.e, Data Centers). His practice includes advising on complex corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings.

Marcos has notable experience in the development and legal structuring of offshore wind energy projects, including regulatory analysis, project financing, and contractual negotiation. He is also specialized in drafting and negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Engineering Procurement and Construction contracts (EPCs), Operations and Maintenance agreements (O&M) and various project agreements.

His work is characterized by a strong commercial awareness, a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal solutions tailored to each client's needs.

EXPERIENCE

  • Victory Hill on the investment of approximately EUR100 million in Fusgar Energy to take 80% of the share capital while the other 20% stake is hold by Spanish Power. The investment is made by Victory Hill to acquire 80% of a portfolio of solar and wind energy projects in Spain, Portugal and Sweden
  • CVE Group in the acquisition of a portfolio of photovoltaic projects with a total power capacity of up to 65 MWp from Emeren Group
  • Aptiv on the drafting and negotiation of a Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (vPPA) with Ignis
  • Advising on the drafting and negotiation of two EPC contracts for the construction of two renewable assets and its evacuation infrastructures in Andalucía (Spain).
  • Nuovoblue on its acquisition of 75% of the entire issued share capital in the Spanish gas power plant Bahía De Bizkaia Electricidad from BP Gas Marketing
  • A renewable energy company on the conclusion of a biogas supply agreement
  • A renewable energy company on the legal due diligence related to five projects for the construction of wind farms and photovoltaic plants in Rueda, Aragón
  • Ardian Clean Energy Evergreen Fund in the acquisition of the remaining equity stake in two operating wind farms Spain, previously co-owned with Mutua Madrileña
  • Banco Santander on the structured financing - for a total amount of approximately EUR 76 million - for the development, installation and operation of three solar photovoltaic plants, owned by Abei Energy & Infrastructure, called Gazules (28 MWn in the province of Cádiz), and Mudarra 1 and 2 (for a total of 95.4 MWn in the province of Valladolid).
  • Unilever on the negotiation of a PPA with Statkraft
  • Kimberley-Clark Europe on drafting, reviewing and negotiating a virtual power purchase agreement with Camposcala, a Nuveen Group company, for the Camposcala PV plant. The plant has a capacity of approximately 53 MW and is located in the Lazio region of Italy
