Ed Griffiths is Co-Head of Private Equity at DLA Piper. He has advised on PE deals for almost 25 years focusing on multi-jurisdictional PE deals acting for sponsors, portfolio companies, and management teams.

He has represented a wide range of sponsors on deals involving different industry sectors, including technology, telecoms, healthcare, finance, printing, publishing, hospitality, leisure, manufacturing, professional services and retail. He has a particular interest in technology and formerly led DLA Piper’s UK Technology Sector.

  • Redgate Software, a global provider of database management solutions, on the strategic growth investment by Bregal Sagemount.
  • MidEuropa on the acquisition of a majority stake in MBL Group, a leading European contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) for assisted mobility, rehabilitation and aged care equipment.
  • MidEuropa on its acquisition of FAMAR, a leading European provider of pharmaceutical manufacturing and development services, from ECM Partners and Metric Capital Partners.
  • Synova on its sale of Avantra, provider of the market-leading AIOps software platform for the SAP ecosystem, to Resurgens Technology Partners.
  • Elida Beauty, a portfolio of consumer brands, in connection with the sale of the company by Unilever to Yellow Wood Partners.
  • Wireless Logic (a portfolio company of Montagu) in relation to the acquisitions of Jola Cloud Solutions, Mobius Networks and Blue Wireless.
  • Apax Partners, Scottish Equitable Partners and others on sale of Tideway Systems (historically one of Britain's fastest-growing private tech companies) to BMC Software and its investment in King.com (the maker of Candy Crush).
  • Pollen Street on its acquisition of Wide Group S.P.A a leading innovative, technology-led insurance broker in Italy.
  • Blackstone TacOps on its investment in portfolio companies including Cloudreach.
  • Graphite Capital on its investments in Golden Tulip (UK) (a hotel business), Leading Edge Labels (a printing business), U-Pol Products (a speciality chemicals business), and JTF Wholesale (a retail business).
