Daniella Guevara is an associate in the Intellectual Property and Information Technology department at DLA Piper’s Madrid office. Her professional experience includes advising and representing clients in both litigation and non-litigation matters relating to industrial property, online gambling regulation, data protection, advertising and regulatory compliance.

Before joining the firm, she completed a dual Master’s degree in Admission to the Bar and Legal Advice in Digital and Technology Law. Prior to that, she worked in the litigation department of a law firm, where she gained experience in court proceedings and litigation practice.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising and representing clients in complex litigation, including the development of litigation strategies, the preparation and defence of legal proceedings, the taking of evidence, and attending hearings, trials and court sessions.
  • Protecting and enforcing trade mark rights through trade mark registration and opposition proceedings, as well as in pre-litigation and settlement matters.
  • Advising clients on the defence and challenge of industrial property rights, participating in patent-related matters such as infringement proceedings and invalidity actions, as well as advising on the protection of trade secrets.
  • Providing legal advice to online gambling operators on consumer complaints and regulatory compliance, including representing them in court proceedings.
  • On compliance with data protection regulations, including advising clients during disciplinary proceedings before the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
  • On advertising and commercial practices in Spain, helping clients to align their marketing strategies with consumer protection standards and other applicable sector-specific regulations.
