Mark Heddema is a senior associate in the Finance department. He works on a variety of domestic and international financing transactions with a particular focus on real estate (development) finance and sustainable finance. Mark advises banks, private credit funds, sponsors and real estate investors, asset managers, developers and contractors on all aspects of real estate (development) and green and sustainable finance. 

Mark regularly publishes articles and chapters in legal journals and books, respectively, and online blogs and speaks at market events on legal topics in the areas of real estate finance and sustainable finance.

Prior Experience

  • Before joining DLA Piper in 2024, Mark worked at another international law firm for 9 years. In 2018, Mark was seconded to the Principal Loan Finance team of the legal department of Goldman Sachs International in London.
