Fabian Herbst is a dual-qualified legal and technical professional who primarily advises on IT and data law, data protection, telecommunications regulation, cybersecurity and technology-driven legal frameworks. Drawing on his background in law and his technical training, Fabian focuses on complex regulatory environments involving digital services, connectivity, data governance, and emerging technologies.
Fabian has in-depth know-how regarding artificial intelligence, including both the legal implications of AI systems and their technical foundations. His work frequently bridges the gap between law and technology, supporting clients in implementing compliant, secure and future proof digital solutions. Complementing his practice, Fabian is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Science.
A particular focus of his practice lies on the technology-related components of M&A transactions, where he supports clients in assessing digital, regulatory and data driven risks, navigating complex IT landscapes, and ensuring the secure and compliant integration of technology assets throughout the transaction lifecycle.
Alongside his key area of work in technology law, Fabian advises on selected matters of intellectual property law - including trademark, design and copyright law - as well as unfair competition law and legal aspects of life sciences.
