Jo practices in the area of competition law and regulation, with experience in the Irish and EU contexts. 

Jo advises both domestic and international clients on a range of antitrust and merger control issues, including contractual agreements and regulatory investigations, as well as in regulated sectors including the telecoms and media / digital services.

Jo's experience includes advising on large scale complex mergers in the technology and financial services sectors, including Keywords Studios on its GBP2.1bn take private transaction and coordination of all merger control and national security filings across the world, management of a complex due diligence process, and provision of advice to the client during an intense take over process on all related aspects, and Fiserv Inc during its takeover of Dutch payments company CCV, a cross border acquisition involving regulatory filings in three EU jurisdictions. Jo has advised in the context of a novel antitrust investigation by the European Commission. Jo also advises on telecoms and communications regulation, including on obligations under the Irish Digital Services Act and Coimisiún na Meán (CnaM) Online Safety Code and ComReg's enforcement of the Irish Electronic Communications Code.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Jo worked in DG Comp, the European Commission’s competition regulator, in the antitrust unit focused on the media sector.
