Hannah Kirner advises German and international clients in the area of commercial contract law and data driven business models.

Her practice focuses on reviewing, drafting and negotiating of operating agreements along the value chain, as well as advising on the implementation of obligations for manufacturers, distributors and other stakeholders in the context of digitisation, both in relation to physical and digital products. Hannah is involved in transformation processes and innovation-focused projects developing playbooks and self-assessment tools for business divisions, and compliance frameworks for clients.

Her clients include companies from the automotive, technology, industrial and consumer goods sectors.

  • Advising a provider of e-mobility services on the roll out and implementation on an EV charging network for heavy-duty electric vehicles in over 30 countries
  • Advising a leading manufacturer of two and three-wheeled electric vehicles in relation to EU market entry, in particular the relevant data related requirements
  • Advising a multinational electrical engineering corporation on developing comprehensive access and data use compliance policies under the EU Data Act for its full stack of connected products and related services. These policies, presented in a detailed handbook format, were seamlessly integrated into the client's broader compliance guidelines
  • A global software company on updating their global standard business terms and related terms and conditions for individual software, cloud services, and related products
  • Advising a German-based rental provider of hydrogen trucks on the design of the contractual framework with gas station operators for the favourable purchase of hydrogen for end customers

Prior Experience

Prior to joining DLA Piper in 2023, Hannah Kirner worked, among others, at the German Chamber of Commerce for Spain in Madrid during her legal traineeship (2021-2023) and gained professional experience as a research assistant at the University of Würzburg.
