About

Francesco Lalli is a lawyer with almost 15 years’ experience in corporate criminal law.

Francesco assists and defends both individuals and leading corporations and financial institutions in matters concerning corporate criminal liability under the Italian Decree No. 231/2001, Health and Safety regulation and criminal implications, environmental criminal law, as well as on corporate and bankruptcy crimes, tax crimes and market abuse.

Francesco has an extensive experience in designing and implementing Organization, Management and Control Models pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree no. 231/2001. He has also strong skills in litigation, defending both companies and managers and directors before Italian courts in corporate criminal liability related proceedings. Francesco assisted several multinational companies in preparing and updating their compliance programs in compliance with national and international (FCPA - UK Bribery Act) regulatory requirements.

He has a structured experience in conducting defensive and internal investigations, also functional to guaranteeing the legal privilege on investigative acquisitions.Francesco is the president of various Supervisory Bodies, established pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/2001, by leading Italian pharmaceutical companies and by Italian subsidiaries of international groups operating in the energy sector.

EXPERIENCE

  • He contributed to the defense of a leading Hong Kong company active in the telecommunications and electronics sector, in relation to the defensive strategy and defense of the Company, accused, together with its directors, of multiple violations, both criminal and administrative, also with regard to to the special rules of the so-called "Golden Power".
  • He coordinated an internal investigations for a leading italian pharmaceutical company - operating worldwide - in relation to alleged incidents of malpractice relating to the safety and quality of the products sold in ASIA-PACIFIC markets.
  • He contributed to the defense of Italian and international companies, active in various sectors (among others, oil & gas, energy, pharma, technology, financial services, gaming), in the design and implementation of their own Organization, Management and Control Models pursuant to the Decree 231/2001. The assistance also included legal advice, training activities on the Model, as well as participation, also as chairman, in the appointed Supervisory Bodies.
