Dong Joo Lee is a former federal prosecutor and Navy veteran who focuses on government and regulatory investigations and white-collar criminal matters.

Drawing on his prior experiences as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Cybercrime Unit of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey and as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Fraud and Public Corruption Section of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia, Dong counsels his clients in high-stakes disputes and complex investigations.

When he was with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Dong was selected to be a Trial Attorney in the National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team (NCET), a special task force created to investigate the criminal misuse of cryptocurrencies and digital assets. In this role, he investigated virtual currency exchanges, mixing and tumbling services, and other Fintech platforms. Earlier in his career, Dong served as a Navy prosecutor and was lead counsel on numerous jury trials and administrative hearings.

Dong clerked in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Military Experience

Dong Joo served on active duty from 2013 to 2019 in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps. He continues to serve in the reserves as a Lieutenant Commander and Military Magistrate in the Navy's Trial Judiciary Unit. Previously, he served as counsel to Navy SEALs with the Naval Special Warfare Group Four and the U.S. Special Operations Command Korea.
