Alexandra Levi is a member of the Intellectual Property and Technology department and practices in the area of intellectual property law with particular focus on commercial contracts and litigation, data protection, media and advertising law.

Alexandra joined DLA Piper in 2022 and is supporting the data protection, IP and IT contracting teams.

In 2023, she was seconded for several months to the holding company of a global home furnishing brand to assist with their GDPR compliance. This included drafting of compliance documentation, performance of data protection impact assessments and providing ad-hoc advice.

Occasionally, Alexandra also assists the litigation team by preparing submissions and participating to pleadings.

As a dedicated member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Alexandra is deeply committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within her professional sphere. Her proactive approach involves organising a range of initiatives and activities aimed at promoting these core values, not only within the firm, but also through active participation in external endeavours that have a positive impact on the wider community.

EXPERIENCE

  • Secondment to a multinational investment group for a 5-month onsite assignment focusing on improving data protection measures and leading a comprehensive compliance programme in collaboration with various departments.
  • Advised an international NGO on transgender rights in Belgium, with a particular focus on gender affirming care.
  • Experience in conducting research, drafting submissions, and participating in pleadings in commercial litigation cases with intellectual property aspects.
  • Conducted in-depth reviews of IT contracts to ensure compliance with regulatory standards for a trade credit insurer.
  • Managed several due diligence projects covering commercial, intellectual property, IT and data protection.
  • Assisted with data protection initiatives for a large Belgian company, including the creation of retention period documents and cookie checklists.
  • Developed presentation materials outlining the legal risks associated with Generative AI for a technology company.
