Alice has extensive experience in advising international and local clients across the Asia-Pacific region. She provides services to clients at all levels of growth in the Fintech, Digital Assets and Technology sectors, from seed and investment stage startups to the world’s leading technology companies.

EXPERIENCE

  • Assisted a Hong Kong leading digital asset management and blockchain solutions company in its contribution to a consortium which involves in the development of the first cryptocurrency in Hong Kong that anchors multiple legal currencies, and the related express trading digital payment wallet system, heavily involved in advising and negotiating the complex foundation structure.
  • Assisted a Hong Kong leading digital asset management and blockchain solutions company in its establishment of a licensed institutional grade tokenised assets trading platform, advised on the structuring of the operation (including the set-up of the custodian and e-wallet and KYC procedures), drafting of the exchange rules, operation agreements, policies and user T&Cs, etc.
  • Provided telecommunication regulatory advices to (i) a global cloud business of a NASDAQ listed multinational company that produces software for searching, monitoring, and analysing machine-generated big data via a web-style interface; and (ii) a multinational sports and entertainment media group.
  • Advised a Singapore-based global investor in select high growth technology sectors in its investment in one of Asia's fastest growing digital asset financial services platforms.
  • Advised one of Hong Kong’s first NFT platforms dedicated to art pieces created by Chinese artists on legal issues surrounding the set up and to review their platform policies.
  • Advised an investment fund setup by the HKSAR Government in relation to its co-investments with venture capital partners in local innovation and technology startups in Hong Kong.
  • Advised an university in Hong Kong in relation to its innovation hub which assists students in the commercialisation of innovations and technology, covering organisation structure, intellectual properties issues and contractual terms for commercialisation.
  • Assisted a SGX listed wealth management fintech company in its subcontractor agreement in relation to the development of the eMPF Platform in Hong Kong.
  • Advised a Hong Kong based fashion conglomerate in the establishment of its online marketplace offering a selection of lifestyle brands and experiences, reviewing and commenting on its Merchant Agreement, T&Cs and e-payment process.
  • Provided in-depth analysis of the proposed set-up and telecommunication licensing implications to a major provider of telecommunications services in the Philippines, which intended to participate in a Philippines -Hong Kong cabling system which involved (i) the establishment of a submarine cable system between Cable Landing Stations in Philippines and Hong Kong; and (ii) the establishment of a Hong Kong backhaul.

Prior to her current role, Alice was a lead member of the technology team of Hong Kong’s oldest and largest local firm, and before that, a Partner in the Digital Business Group of an international law firm and a founding member of its Hong Kong office.
