Amar Maan is an international M&A partner with decades of experience advising corporates, institutions, investors, senior management teams and entrepreneurs on matters such as complex and cross border M&A, controlling and non-controlling investments and fundraisings, carveouts, demergers, reorganisations and joint ventures. He has advised on deals ranging from under GBP1 million to over GBP1 billion. 

Amar leads a number of international client relationships for DLA Piper.

The co-founder of a Private Equity firm praised Amar for “making complicated deals easier”, and the CEO of a client praised his “strong and precise communication and constant push for momentum”.

  • Blackstone Real Estate on the GBP800m acquisition of Village Hotels from KSL Capital Partners. 
  • Visa on the sale of its UK smart ticketing and travel payments business to Unicard.
  • Cheung Kong Infrastructure on the acquisition of the electricity distribution business of EDF Energy for USD9bn.
  • Toyota Fleet Mobility on the GBP100m acquisition of Inchcape Fleet Solutions (rebranded as KINTO).
  • Merlin Entertainments on the AUD174m sale of two Australian ski resorts and an airport to Vail Resorts, Inc.
  • A European infrastructure fund on its GBP60m investment in a London based fibre connectivity provider.
  • A renewables infrastructure fund on the proposed acquisition of, and subsequent joint venture arrangements relating to, a portfolio comprising 20 SPV’s covering 28 solar projects.

  • Canara Bank on the merger of its UK business with Syndicate Bank’s UK business.
  • LSL Properties plc on its acquisition of the Halifax Estate Agency business from Bank of Scotland and its subsequent acquisition of Marsh and Parsons.
  • Tioopo Capital on its leveraged buyout of Tecniq, a design and engineering business specialising in ultra-luxury limited-supply cars.
