Joe advises private and public clients on all forms of commercial contracts and agreements including property and facility management, outsourcing, supply, purchase and distribution, and logistics arrangements. Joe's experience covers a number of industry sectors in areas such as public sector and government contracting, manufacturing and industrials and consumer goods, retail and food.

Joe's experience includes negotiating complex agreements for transitional and continuing services provided by large financial organisations and international manufacturing companies across multiple jurisdictions to ensure continuity of services. Other experience includes re-negotiating outsourced service agreements ; negotiating and drafting supply chain-related framework agreements and software licence agreements; and, providing consumer advice in respect of the sale of goods in the retail and online-shopping spheres

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising a government department on the re-procurement of critical inbound and outbound call centre services; including the preparation of its core requirements, preparation of contractual framework and subsequent supplier negotiations.
  • Leading with negotiating and drafting agreements for a government department in relation to (i) its Covid-19 genomic sequencing surveillance capacity and (ii) research platform database for the upload of sequenced genomes for access by the research community, assisting with the UK’s overall ‘red route’ surveillance and surveillance for variants of concern and variants of interest.
  • Leading with the transition of a government department’s statutory service provision in respect of livestock movement from an outsourced provider to a government-owned subsidiary, which involved the migration of mass data to a newly implemented technology platform and drafting of numerous service agreements relating to the provision of the statutory service.
  • Leading with negotiating and drafting a government department’s agreement with an NHS Foundation Trust relating to the provision of the ‘Lantern’ Covid-19 testing service allowing other NHS Foundation Trusts to log Covid-19 staff test results via a newly developed technology platform.
  • Led with advising an aerospace OEM in respect of the commercial aspects of the GBP60 million sale of part of its UK based group of companies involving complex group separation activities and negotiating contract changes with its large aerospace customers.
  • Advising a large domestic LPG supplier on its contract refresh programme in respect of its sales of bulk gas supplies and cylinder gas supplies to consumers involving issues including: competition concerns, regulated financial services activities and the Domestic Bulk LPG Market Investigation Order and the Domestic Bulk LPG Market Investigation (Metered Estates) Order.
